Journey Map
. . . the book . . .
I originally presented Journey Map in book form, publishing it in January 2013. The concept is based on the idea of venturing into uncharted territory within to recapture lost parts of ourselves. It’s a guidebook for the journey. It provides tools to aid in locating and retrieving those parts of ourselves we left behind long ago in order to stay safe from harm, whether it be judgment, ridicule, harassment or even abuse. It’s essential gear for your travels, with a map, a compass, identification cards and instructions on choosing the right stones to create a trail marker.
It follows Joseph Campbell’s hero journey, where we become the hero in our own mythology. As a problem arises, we agree to the adventure, set out to discover our lost treasure, and conquer our self-imposed limits. In the end, we emerge a new person.
Journey Map is a process of transformation, of burning through blocks that keep us trapped in fear, to experience a new life of expanded awareness and joy. It’s a map to the hidden treasure within.
